Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This policy describes what data typespeedtest.com (the "site") collects and how it's handled. The site is operated by one person.
What I don't collect
I don't require accounts, logins, or personal information to use the typing test. I don't run analytics or marketing trackers, and nothing you type is sent to me or stored on a server. The site does show ads, which are described in the next section.
Advertising
The site displays ads served by Google AdSense to cover its running costs. There are no ads on the typing test itself.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalized advertising from other participating vendors at aboutads.info.
These cookies are set by Google-controlled domains such as doubleclick.net and googlesyndication.com — not by typespeedtest.com. I don't receive, store, or have access to the data Google collects through them. Google's advertising privacy notice explains what it collects and why.
Contact form
The Contact form collects only what you put in it: an email address and a message. Your message is delivered to a private channel I monitor. I'll only use your email to reply to you. I won't add it to a list, share it with anyone, or use it for anything other than answering your message.
The form runs an automated bot-prevention check before your message goes through. That check looks at minimal browser signals to tell humans from bots — it isn't advertising tracking, and may set a temporary cookie on your device.
Cookies
Two things may set a cookie on your device:
- Advertising — Google's ad cookies, described above.
- Bot prevention — the check on the Contact page may set a temporary cookie while it runs.
The site itself doesn't set any cookies of its own. Your settings and test history aren't cookies — they're stored locally, described next.
Locally stored data
Your test results, history, and settings (chosen test duration, theme, etc.) are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by using the "Clear history" button on the History page.
Children's privacy
The site isn't directed at children under 13, but it's designed to be safe for general audiences and is used in some classrooms. I don't knowingly collect any information from children, and the site doesn't ask for personal information from anyone.
Changes
I may update this policy as the site evolves. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top.

If you have questions about this policy, the Contact page is the best way to reach me.
